Putting the Stretch Bed together

Open the legs, build it on its side with the two poles through the canvas, then tip it onto its feet. It comes apart the same way for washing or moving.

In the pack

  • 2

    Leg units

Recycled HDPE, two crossed planks each. They fold flat for carrying and open into an X.

  • 1

    Canvas

Heavy-duty and washable, with a sleeve down each long edge. It packs into its own bag.

  • 2

    Galvanised steel poles

    One for each sleeve.

Put it together

  1. 1

    Lay it all out

Put the two folded leg units, the canvas and the two poles on the ground, the canvas flat between the legs.

  2. 2

    Open the legs

Pull the planks of each leg apart until they cross in an X and the tab stops them. Stand them up, about a bed length apart.

  3. 3

First pole, with the bed on its side

Build it lying on its side. Slide one pole through the bottom sleeve of the canvas and through the top hole of each leg, end to end.

  4. 4

Second pole, and pull it tight

Lift the canvas up like a wall and slide the second pole through the top sleeve and the other leg holes. Lean on it to pull both poles home into the holes.

  5. 5

Tip it over, and it stands

Roll the bed over onto its feet. The canvas holds it all together: without it the bed will not stand.

Good to know

  • • Two people make it easier, and one person can do it.
  • • To wash the canvas, take it apart the same way: poles out, canvas off.
  • • Set it on flat, firm ground so both legs sit square.
